Robert's 3rd and probably final to the City Center Mall in Doha

I am going to the mall this weekend with the same bunch probably this one last time.

I am going to see the Glashutte and other watches.
My buddy who got the Spector still wants the TAG.
And our third friend wants to get something with carbon fiber.

Stay tuned!

I had no trip to the mall today, instead I got to do something I have never done before, and that is, sign a bomb.

Remember the B1-B?

Yes these pictures were authorized!

That's me in the cammies

Autograph time!

Next time I'll draw a Rolex crown too, ooh but what about trademark violations when the bomb crosses the border!

Tomorrow the mall!

Hell, you can visit the mall anytime. How often do you get to sign a little piece of payback

Well, the Geneva convention doesn't require us to wash and polish the bombs before we drop the them.

Can you draw a happy face on the bomb and write Happy new year on them? I like to get a picture of that if possible.

Actually the bomb casing are just meant to hold the parts in, they are very rough. It is not rust, it just isn't Rolex quality.

Good luck watch shopping Robert
Careful as you go on that bomb with the pen, I'd hate to see it detonate!
Happy New Year

The mall tonight was PACKED! It is Eid and everyone is shopping. Rolexes were selling like nobody's business.

And get this. 116713, the one I just bought, went up in price by US$1,033!!! yep, that great deal I got is gone and now the price is very close to the USA price (but still a better deal).

I am going to try to go back tomorrow. They did not have the Glashutte in, but I did see an IWC diving watch in titanium that is rated to 2000 meters!

Hit the mall tonight with my friends. I expect to leave here next week. The Glashutte came in:

I am not crazy over the moon thingie. They are a little higher priced than Alan Furman. Some dealing got them down to $3600.

So I walk over to the Rolex dealer. They have this and that but nothing exciting. I see the TT Blue Sub. Hey the GMT Anniversary is better! I find out a few thnigs:

This version of watches, 2007-2008, has a different clasp. There is no part that flips over to lock down the band, but rather the part to pull up on faces the other way and it works like a seat belt! Very pretty.

I see some Rolexes that are meant for national Delegates. Sweet! One is SS Oyster band but the center links are buffed to a sheen. The watch is a DJ and the face is very rare, so they say. It is all black but has a starburst effect radiating from the center. Light catches the radiating lines and it is always shining, no matter what way it faces, due to all the angles created by the sunburst. The bezel is fluted and gold. My price is $5300.

Of course I looked at many other watches but these two stood out. Looked at a white faced DJ too with a jubilee band. This band is now for 2007-2008 too. The links are solid and will not stretch like the old ones.

I like the hands on the Glashutte and the dial on the DJ. Still undecided.

Hi Robert,

I know the DJ you're talking about....seen it at Mansor's. Very beautiful. Don't know however about the time readability with that fancy dial. Good luck in your final decision, my friend.

Cheers - JJ

PS: If you think the new GMT-II is better than the TT Blue Sub....you're not only a tosser....you might even be right (in your own way, of course!)

How about this: TTGMTIIA for north of the equator, TTSUBBF for south of the equator!
