Computer Question

Guys/Gals,

I recently updated my iTunes to the latest version and while it's working fine, what's weird is that now every time I turn on my Dell laptop and the desktop loads, I get these weird pop-up notices with something to do with 'Applesync' or 'Apple Notifier' not working properly.

I can't even remember what it says but it's so annoying. I have to hit 'OK' on both so that my desktop can finish loading and I can get onto the net.

Any tips? I tried to get to the settings (control panel?) that show which programs are launching at start-up to minimize them, but I didn't get very far....can't even figure out where to see a list of start-up programs.

TIA!

A quick fix would be to reinstall iTunes. If you're using Windows Vista or 7, there may have been something blocking the installation of all the components.

I personally just modify the registry startup folder to take care of those pesky things. That's something I don't recommend for the average person though.

I'm running Vista. OK, so I should just go back to the Apple site and download iTunes again? I actually do recall that when I was downloading it recently, I had to leave the house for about 30 min so I didn't see it finish installing (though when I opened iTunes I could see it was the latest version).

You don't have to download it again if the installation file is still on your hard drive. Locate the file, right click and select run as administrator.

Hmmm, OK I think I just did it. It went much more quickly than it did the first time....I selected 'repair' rather than 'remove' so hopefully that did it. Won't know til I reboot. Thanks Vu!
