My Panerai Arrived.....
Firstly I want to say a big THANKYOU to everyone that listened to me agonise and lent an ear when I was deciding on what to buy. A watch of this calibre doesn't come easy to me.. and I have an un-supportive partner at home that doesnt see what the fuss is about when it comes to fancy watches. Basically this means I wont be having a whole bunch of them....
Who cares? I only got 1 left wrist anyways So I got a PAM005 or a Logo or a Fiver as it's sometimes called! I'm really happy with the watch. Due to the nature of my wrist (being quite round in shape) the fiver fits me really well... the strap is great as it's wide, soft and I can make mini adjustments to it throughout the day. My biggest beef with the bracelets is comfort... thats not going to be an issue for me with the fiver. On paneristi.com they say 'oh sooo much more than just a watch' and the Panerai community really is THAT. I've made some really good friends in the last 4 months that are now enriching all areas of my life.... I wont name names, you guys know who you are!! I also want to thank Karis (kcmo) girl, how long we been friends now? Must be 6+ months right? You are a hell of a nice person and I thankyou for your friendship! so here's a wrist shot.... I'll update this thread in the next few days with better photos... promise Last edited by amanda; 23 February 2007 at 09:30 AM.. |

A wonderful watch - great choice. I just love the clean look and the purity of it. Unlike many collectors, I'm always drawn to the model with few complications if any. My motto is "I want less - please, less - less." It sometimes drives the dealers 'round the bend... Larry.

Congratulations Amanda.
Don't forget to exercise the other arm, we don't want you walking around with one bulging bicep.

Great watch Amanda now will come next the difference range of straps. Its one thing about Panerai they look great on leather, and its surprising how a strap can change the whole look of a watch. So wear your watch in good health Amanda.

Congratulations on the new watch Amanda!
Great looking classic dial. The main thing is that it feels right for you. Does it have the display back, and I assume it is manual wind? |

Congrats Amanda - very nice looking Panny indeed
Like how you turned up the buckle in the 2nd pic to show off the Panerai markings! Enjoy your new watch. |

Nope its a solid steel back... the Logos are all solid backs. It's a manual wind too.. I totally forgot to wind it, so used to the autos It's very easy to set and a delight to wind! |

Yeah, very cool watch Amanda
How is the luminous material at night? I suspect it may be better than the GMTII that you had? I've seen some Panerais with like below the (dial) surface lumination, yours isn't like that. Don't know too much at all about Panerais. Anyway, many say that manual wind are great to give you more interaction with your watch. I have a manual wind JLC which I do really like. Enjoy |

Steve.. I think you're referring to the sandwich dials... where the numbers are cut into the dial.. very cool. Apparently the lume is more white on sandwich dials vs green on the painted dials like mine.
The lume is COOL... it's like a torch. My GMT had very little lume in it, which I have to say disappointed me at the time.... still nothing compares to the Seiko diver I had.. it was a torch! I changed the strap today, very easy to do. Just a case of putting some masking tape on the lugs and unscrewing 1 long screw out, push out the bar from the strap, re-fit that to the new strap and screw it all back together! Here's the finished product.. I am trying out the burgundy calf I got from the AD today - very nice colour! Using another buckle I had, its a bit less bulky as the OEM one. Here's a pic Last edited by amanda; 25 February 2007 at 03:57 PM.. Reason: aarrgghhh my photo wont appear |

It's like my Nike runners... they have a little tiny red swoosh on the toe of the shoe... that was like the selling point! I like logos... small minds an all that perhaps |
