One of the ADs here in Bangkok, says he thinks the Sub LV will be discontinued and a new SS Submariner will be launced, with Maxi dial, new bracelet and ceramic bezel. I do think that is the way of the future over the next several years. Already seen the transformation with the GMT and the DJs. SO think it is natural will go on to all brands. Think will also see a new Explorer 1 with the same case and bracelet as the DJ. Just my guess.

Call me crazy, but I am betting that there WILL be a new SS GMT II released as Basel. I feel so strongly that this is the case to the degree that I am going to my AD this morning to put money down, which will put me in first place to buy IF the watch comes out. If you look at Rolex trends it seems to me that Rolex releases all gold models first, Two Tones next, and SS last. The current SS GMT II has been around awhile could be changed. The gossip around is that all the sports models are going to be changed so why not start with the SS GMT II? I would love to own a ceramic bezel.

I already spoke with my dealer about getting in line so to speak. The money was my idea to assure my place. If the new SS GMT II does not get released, then I get all of my money back, and the AD will have only had my funding for less than two weeks. It is worth the advanced action so I can avoid the problems I had acquiring my LV Sub.

Check out the Rolex Web Page

A gold "10" bezel shot - looks like it is on a Blue Sub - with a note that says it will arrive at Basel on April 12.

Interesting?

A new ceramic bezel on the subs?

I'm hoping for a 44mm SS GMT II with the new clasp and ceramic bezel.
Which will never happen.

Will this kill the value and appeal of the present SS sub?

I don't think so, Kev. Personally, I still prefer the standard dial and markers. The SS Sub-date will always remain the quintessential and Ultimate Rolex in my books. The absolute KING of all Rollies.
