What watch(es) do you travel with on vacation?
I know it depends on where you're vacationing (ie. beach, golf, touring, etc) and I usually wear just 1 watch, but I'm thinking about taking a "dressy" watch in addition to the one I'll wear during the day on my next trip.
Last vacation was to French Polynesia for some water time and I wore my Rolex Pepsi for it's GMT function. It was great. It's easy for me to decide which watch for tropical destinations, but what about travel to Europe (France, Italy, Germany)? What is your favorite watch to travel with? And how do you pack them? In a service pouch, with carry on, in luggage? Just curious - thanks! PS. Image taken underwater |

I'm about ready to embark on a european vacation and if it wasn't for two days in my itinerary, I would be bringing my LV. Heck, my watch is insured worldwide but I will probably be in some seedy areas and the place is notorious.
It really is a shame, because I will be in some nice areas... so, I will be bringing an el cheapo.

I travel with my Bremont ALT1-Z
I leave the Rolexes at home, but now that I have the 14060 I might take it along as well.

I only take the watch on my wrist. I have taken more than one in the past and found it to be too much trouble.

For vacation travel nothing beats a GMT, in any combination.

LOVE that GMT Dan !
I usually only bring ONE watch on my vacations. Usually my Planet Ocean. The others will stay locked up in the safe home. |

If I'm not concerned about theft, I bring three. One dress watch on a strap, one casual one on a bracelet, and one beater diver.

I usually bring two high end watches and two digital types (Casio, Suunto). Last March I was in a half dozen German cities and no problems at all. A couple of months ago we went to Italy, UK, and Belgium on a business trip and I brought one high end watch (Pam 88) and the two digital watches.

I only take one watch when traveling, and more often than not it's my GMT IIC.
Almost 3 years on and as much as I love my birth-year 1675, I think the IIC is still my favorite.

Explorer 1, for "stealth wear", along with a GMT II or Sub Date, then a G Shock, for exercise/running.

Usually my Seiko 'Monster' just for piece of mind leaving it in a hotel, or dropping it in the airport (I only say this because my dad's friend dropped his going through security, I'm not actually worried about it), and other reasons(basically I don't feel as safe traveling as I do at home). I do have a honeymoon to the bahamas coming up and will wear the GMT and bring my g-shock for activities. I figure its a special occasion, I might as well enjoy it.
I would post some cool pics, but they are not that great and you have all seen monsters and gmtc before |

I work away for a few months at a time, so one watch is impossible (unless I buy a new one whilst away!!). I should hopefully be going away via the US, so will take the chance to join you guys and get a Rolex then, as I'm pretty sure I know just what I'm looking for
In answer to the question, I quite like the idea of the Planet Ocean and Breitling B1 plus whatever I decide to indulge myself in...! Ash |

before i got the Sub-C, it was the 16610LV most times due to the non-PCL bracelete.
took SS GMTIIC once, and came back with scratches on the PCL, especially on the clasp (never again me thinks ) |

I always traveled (locally or out) and still do, with my trustee 16610.
In fact, I just came from a three-day vacaton and did firing, snorkling and white water rafting with it. Never failed me =)

Always my GMT for dual time and that 'colourful feeling', plus my trusty Oregon Scientific sailing watch for weather checks.
