Sorry to hear about that Paul. Further proof of the importance of the "Thin Blue Line."

Glad YOU are OK Paul. Maybe they weren't smart enough to wipe the casings and you can get some good prints!

I remember that...they made two arrests....

Hey Paul, don't feel too bad, my patrol car got damaged too...I was responding to a major accident in the rain we had a couple of weeks back, and hit a large spot of water, (driving the speed limit with my lights and siren on), and slid into the oncoming lane of traffic with a vehicle coming right at me at about 55MPH. I was able to regain control of the vehicle just before we made impact, and ended up sliding into a guardrail. I would take pics of the damage, but I made a call a little while ago and had to go down a still wet mud driveway, and now you can't see the damage. The estimate of the damage to my car is $2,561.69.

It was just anger directed at the cars.

Kharma has a crazy way of taking care of the suspects.
^That folks is the truth! Couldn't have said it better. On the other hand now you don't have to drive around with fake bullet holes that are stickers like some idiots.:) Glad you ok though!

Paul,
Is your squad a take home car? At my department we take our cars home with us and a lot of guys worry about stuff like this happening at home. Actually, about a year ago we had a string of incidents to cars at Deputy's homes. In my opinion, that is what I refer to as "coloring outside of the lines." In other words, if someone has a beef with a copper, then that is job related and has nothing to do with his home and family. Fortunately, most of these incidents involved childish stuff like spray paint and nothing near as severe as what you described.

Your situation is nothing short of amazing. Stay safe and remember that these pricks are still out there WITH their firearms!

Depends on local practice. Here in Chi-town you show up for your shift and check out a car -- which is very unlikely to be the one you had yesterday.

This of course has its positives and negatives. On the one hand, no nice full-time car to drive home and park in your driveway. But on the plus side, if you get filmed while beating up some civilian who pissed you off, they had better get your Star Number because the number of your car won't be enough to determine who you are.

(Scarhead, my information differs from yours. I was under the impression that CPD did not take their cars home, and checked out a new one each day. Are you CPD or in the burbs?)

Timber, your information is correct. CPD does not have take home cars for patrolmen unless you have a collateral duty such as bomb, K9, etc. To answer your question, I am out in the burbs. BTW, are you on the job?

A big thanks to all LEO's for keeping the bad guys at bay!
And with this stinking economy there are MORE bad guys.
"Stay safe out there".

We should redirect a portion of all this stimulus to law, fire, emts, teachers for something worthwhile.....

I digress.

A big thanks gents.

Thank You Betrezra!
As for the stimulus package idea how about Day Dates all around? To make it a true stimulus plan the watches can be pre-owned in need of servicing so we would have to spend money on sending them to Rolex. Think about it. We get a Rolex, we spend money on the shipping($ back to the G) and pay Rolex for service. Everyone goes home a winner.
