Icon5 Anyone Have a Vanguard Account?

If so what are your opinions? I'm thinking about opening an account and would appreciate input.

I've been with Vanguard for about 15 years. It's shareholder owned. Ultra low fees. No sales load. I'm pleased.

Thanks Barry,
I'm probably going to open an account soon. I'm still deciding which funds or ETFs to go with.

I've been with both Vangaurd and Fidelity for a number of years. I would choose Vangaurd given an ultimatum. Although, Fidelity has some nice funds and may be worth comparing or going with both depending on your preferred funds.

I had a number of accounts with them. They was well managed and easy to move funds around. I was very pleased with their service as well.
regards,
pete

I've had an account with Fidelity for over 25 years and I'm really glad I went with them!

If you're new to the Market, one word d-i-v-e-r-s-i-f-y in mutuals and no single-company stocks.

As a stockbroker here in Chicago, I can tell you that Vanguard is pretty good, so is Fidelity and a host of others. The most important part is what investments you decide on as opposed to the actual firm you open an account with.

I'm a Boglehead

I dumped my Broker 3 years ago and have been with Vanguard since. Wish I had started years ago. Both Vanguard and Fidelity offer comparable low cost Index funds. There seems to be a "fee war" lately with the ETF funds. I just happen to prefer Vanguard being shareholder owned and not controlled by a family.

I would suggest this as a starting place, education with recommended books:

Best Wishes

When I quit an employer after 15 years, I placed my retirement money into a Vanguard account, and I've been happy with the company. As has been mentioned, the fees are very low. They have a wide variety of no-load funds, many of which are rated highly in various financial publications. I recommend Vanguard highly.
