That's a very cool photo of one of the most interesting things in horology. Well done (again), and thanks for posting!

I'd be interested in comments from the many knowledgable experts around here as to how much impact on accuracy tourbillons have in real world use.

I understand that watches without tourbillons show different levels of accuracy depending on the position in which the watch is placed (face up, crown up, etc.) To my simple understanding of what tourbillons do, it seems they should "average out" variations in accuracy that would otherwise occur in different positions. That may improve accuracy for a watch left on a table (but not necessarily -- it would depend on the positional accuracy that would otherwise be experienced) -- but doesn't seem like it would be significant for a watch being worn.

In other words, doesn't normal wear on the wrist act as a sort of "natural" tourbillon?

That's actually a great question. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I have will answer it.

Good question. I wonder if one would normally wear a Tourbillon on a wrist, of if it just sits in a safe? Seriously. That's a lot of watch to wear daily.

I would have such a hard time leaving such a beauty locked up in the safe. I would have to look at it almost daily if not every hour as they are so nice to look at.
