Hi, there 297 has some distinct features:

1. Do you want/need a GMT function?
2. Do you want a bracelet?

I have been very happy with my 88 for many years and like that I can easily change straps. Even when I'm on the beach, I use the rubber strap and it works well.

I never missed a bracelet for Panerai.

It's a good looking watch and get it if you love it!!!!

Good luck

I actually like the bracelet a lot :). Don't need a gmt function but looks neat :). I was going to go for the 88 but I prefer brushed. How do I post pictures btw?

You will need to open an account with photo hosting service, I use Photobucket.com

Once you've opened the account, you can the "upload" your photos from your computer to Photobucket.

Once uploaded you just have to put your cursor over the words "IMG code" and it will automatically copy.

Then just paste it in the message box. You can paste as many code lines as you want for multiple photos.

Try it :-)

No, you cannot use the files directly from your computer >>>>

They will not appear.

You need a hosting service as I described!

Glad u got it Voss. It's one great looking watch with really neat dial and GMT function. I would get the Pam 088 in a heartbeat if not for it's polished case.
