Yes, fairly recent, a 77,xxx,xxx serial number.
DW ps: my local shop was curious about the white dial, and went into their Omega parts database and found it, so I believe it is still available. pps: when I get home tonight, I'll look around for the box that the white dial came in, I'm not sure if I still have it. I'll post the part number if I can find the box. |

Doesn't it look lovely though
I was thinking that the guy Bill talked to might have mistaken the dial we're all interested in for the one on the Speedmaster date in the OP's post. That one has a date window and is smaller at only 40mm. I really hope this can be done But if I get this done, I'm all out of Christmases and birthdays until 2012

Looks good, I've started to take a liking to the Pandas. I might have to make a trip to the boutique to check this one out!

Hey David,
Very nice watch. I was actually considering doing the same with mine. Cheers Aaron, BTW. What bracelet are you running on the watch? It looks like it has a taper like the older model 1498.

I just put the same OF sourced dial and hands on a 3570 with the 1861 movement and the watchmaker just had to file the posts just a bit and the fit and look are perfect.

Sweet, post up some photos some time. The hands are notoriously tight fitting so I'm not surprised to hear of the fitting work.

Panda Dial and mesh
Otto Frei had all the parts and total cost plus watch was about 450. My local watchmaker put the whole thing together on an older 3570 and I think it looks and wears great. I switch off between the mesh and lightweight strap depending on the heat here in Houston

I want the watch in the OP with the gray dial and black subdials on a bracelet
I have had some trouble finding it mind you, i searched in the UK and only found it at the boutique and harrods, both of which would not budge from the $2200gbp retail. In singapore it was even more expensive duty free! I was tempted to buy it even knowing i was going to be paying full price :) Could anyone PM me contact details for a reliable seller that can get these? |

Pick that up a week ago.
I like the retro look with the cordura strap..... just waiting for my AD call when it arrived.
I don't think is a Po'r man Daytona.... but it does look like the 6241... but not that anyone can be so lucky to get a 6241. Here are two of mine. |

theposterman: That is a very cool looking watch Very nice panda result and the black hands really add to the easy readability of that watch.

I owned a 323.32.40.40.04.001 for a short time and actually just sold it (you can see the listing in the For Sale section on here). It's def the Po'mans Daytona Panda - absolutely beautiful and simple dial, reminds me of the 6263. Well made watch too, looks stunning, although I will say not as vibrant as in the picture. The cordura strap probably makes the dial pop a little bit more though.
