Paid product placement. Nothing else. Daniel Craig wears - to Omega's chagrin - Rolex privately.

Famously Omega... Including a name drop in the movie where he implies it's better than. Rolex!

Terrible movie, terrible Bond!

Bring back Sean Connery, bring back Terence Young!

Bah Humbug!

He may not be the best Bond, but he's by far the hottest Bond. Hell- it should be me in that pic instead of the woman...

I didn't know the Planet Ocean made an appearance prior to Quantum.

Neat.

IMHO they should have stuck with the seamaster that Broslin had. I remember someone of the Roger moore Bonds where they were on a Seiko flex. Good old 80's lol

I can't possibly understand how anyone can say Craig is a bad Bond. Good acting is good acting, he brings his own traits to the character and does a good job of it IMO.

When he meets the lady on the train (I think her name was Vesper?) she tries to size him up and says something like "You probably wear an expensive watch, Rolex perhaps?" and he replies "Omega" (pronouncing it Omeega), and she responds with "Oh, nice!"

It was a very obvious product placement - pretty hokey.

Loving the way Omega uses a fictional character as an 'Ambassador' for the brand. I believe Daniel Craig is a big Rolex fan.

If you think Daniel Craig is a good actor then I've get a length of 4 by 2 in the shed that's Lawrence Bloody Olivier!

Having recently read the books, I think Craig actually does a pretty fair job of capturing the character from the books, which is very different for Roger Moore and Sean Connery.

Grumpy, hopefully there have been some actors you've like since Sir Lawrence...

Agreed. Craig is the best Bond since Connery IMO. Admittedly, the writing is much better than some of the stuff Roger Moore had to work with, some of those movies were quite bad.

Bond is more than a fictional character, a legend perhaps.

The Bond watch is actually a big deal to some.

Omega has more than enough fictional Ambassadors who wear their products, and let's not forget the company holds greatest achievement of any wrist watch in history.

Craigs portrayal is probably cloesest as to bonds character in the books.

Not to mention better technology and bigger budgets.

I've read every book god knows how many times, both before and after Craig "became" Bond... I don't see it myself! When Connery slotted the Geologist in the jamaican mountains with "that's a Smith and Wesson, and you've had your six!" that was the unadulterated Bond off the books.

We ain't going to agree...

I walk away... (muttering to myself!)

...easier to survive the moon than the very deepest part of the ocean... (though, even I'll admit I wouldn't want that thing as my Daily Wearer!)

Daniel Craig wears Rolex (just not in the movies..).

He actually seems to be quite the Rolex aficionado, truth be told. I've seen some really great examples on his wrist.

It's unfair to judge his ability based on a comparison to someone some consider the greatest of all time.

I was comparing him to the plank!

I meant to walk away from this one... You've tempted me back!

This time, I'm off!

The first couple of Connery films are, to me, the closest to the books in pretty much every respect. Casino Royale was, however, quite a good modern interpretation and update of the story that, I felt, captured the spirit of the originals very well.

Connery's sheer screen presence means that, for me, he will always be the greatest Bond. However, Daniel Craig is a good actor and I would place his Bond second to Connery's. It's also nice to see that Daniel Craig wears Bond's true watch of choice in his private life!
