No Mike I'd say you have submariners on a monopoly as well as a monopoly on submariners.

Thanks for sharing, that's a VERY impressive collection! My wife is a bit concerned though (she saw me staring at my computer screen for minutes)

I am starting each day looking at the OP's collection here!
At my age it's better than starting the day looking @ photos of naked women.

Mike, out of interest, do you have the history of the mlsubs, for example, when and where they were issued?

MilSub History
Quote:
Rolex UK's milSub records start from around late-1974 / 1975, and although Rolex did supply military issue watches before this, detailed histories are not obtainable. The records are still held at Rolex UK, but at the present time, nobody has taken over Mr Hudson's position and continued to provide military issue histories... |

Rolex NATOs
Quote:
The ones they now sell are a different type... much stiffer, sharp, and with the removable buckle. I think Rolex just source these from a generic strap supplier and they are nothing special. NATO straps are available everywhere. It's worth going to a watch fair and comparing and handling some different straps, and even army surplus stores usually have a few to choose from. Ebay is full of them! Good luck! |
