Sorry for asking, but what do you mean by "23K"??

If you mean "23 karat" (gold), something worries me, since Rolex "only" uses 18 Karat gold (and on some older models 14 karat).

But as said already, pics do help us helping you

Hi
I'm sorry to say but unfortunately the watch you have photographed does not appear to be a genuine Rolex, but it looks to be an imitation. It does appear to be 100% fake.

That is absolutely positively 100% fake. Not worth $20 let alone $2,000. I hope you did not buy that yet?!

First give away. Clear caseback. I could go on and on. There are so many things wrong with that watch.

There is a thread around here somewhere on how to spot a fake.

Bottom line if you want to be sure you are not buying a fake. Save up and buy one from an authorized Rolex dealer. At least the first Rolex you get. Until you are knowledgable enough to fend off the scammers. Good luck!

Lots of great info here to help you protect yourself. Feel free before any purchase to run it by us to get our thoughts on it whether it is real and a good deal.

I'm glad you got the advice that you need.

Needless to sake its a sure fake.

Real Rolexes do not have any clear case back unless an owner of a gen piece modifies their own.

The clasp is wrong on the bracelet as well.

100% fake, not worth at all.

Hi Furtiv, a belated Welcome Aboard!

I'm glad to read that you didn't buy that counterfeit Rolex. There are lots available from legitimate sellers for reasonable prices.

Right here on TRF are some of the best deals around from some of the most reliable guys around.

This may be pushing the limits of good manners since I am a brand new member, but...

You guys did the OP a great service by giving him frank and honest advice on the fake Rolex he posted pics of.

It is refreshing to see folks willing to help a newbie out.

In my earlier posts, I bought my first Rolex in 1990. I didn't post that I had been pining for one for 4 years before I laid down any cash. I spent those 4 years reading, shopping, and researching Rolex watches. I found my Air King, 2 years old and still NIB for $500 in a pawn shop. It was a retirement present for the shop owner's neighbor. I had the owner sign a statement that he'd refund my money if the watch wasn't genuine. I went straight to the local AD and he verified the watch and even remembered selling it originally. I bought a link for the bracelet since it was a little snug, and have been a happy owner for 17 years.

Looking back, it may have been risky but then again, fake Rolexes were pretty obvious in 1990.
