Rory McIlroy

I'm rooting for this kid today. I followed him a bit on Friday and he has a great game. I think he's the next great golfer.

He is a great golfer! Let's hope he can hold it together and not fall apart like he did at the Masters. So many golfers under estimate the mental strength required to win at that level.

He is a fantastic young golfer, not only that, a wonderful young man who does lots for charity as well, where most would be out with their friends spent time going over to Haiti and helped with young children affected by that disaster... Plus I have £25 on him to win at 18-1...
Had the same on him last time, but he just fell at the last hurdle...

I'll be flipping between the ballgame and US open and I'm hoping Rory holds on and wins. He does seem like a great kid and Northern Ireland should be proud !

He inspired me to pick up Golf. I'm only 21 and it's good to see young pros.

I'm rooting for him too. He's on 1 now and so far, so good. I was sorry to see him melt down at Augusta in April and hope he can keep his nerve today.

He's looking good - should be a straight forward round for him.

He'll have learnt a lot from the Masters and the way he handled himself after that was commendable - he deserves this today!!!

Seems like a high quality person and certainly an outstanding golfer. I'm rooting for him, especially since he's from Ireland (Northern).

It looks like he's going to walk it from here.

10 shots up and 16 holes to go.

A classy act and that's for sure.

I cannot stand golf, but it is nice to see someone so decent, and who stays above any of the sectarian rubbish here in NI, do so well. Especially when he is from 5km up the road....
