I've seen that article in the past. I just love it. Glad mine is from the 70s. Hahaha!

Hmmmmm! Always wondered why my GMT 1675, probably built in 1960, always glowed in the dark. In any case, can't sweat radiation from a wristwatch after going through 4 three-month deployments in nuclear attack submarines! We always had to wear those dosometers (or whatever they were called) to make sure we weren't getting too much radiation. Wonder if my GMT ever registered! Cheers, Pat

Very interesting Kyle but I don't know was the radioactive material dangerous:
(a) because it was of itself in such quantity and/or strength radioactively dangerous to human health of the wearer; or (b) was it a dangerous atomic material that could potentially be used for unauthorised purposes (i.e. to maliciously harm others).

Great articles guys! thanks for posting.
i have to say that even though the radioactivity is likely very low at this point, i find it gross to own something that pretty much is a hazmat. |

Very interesting!
Was this the GMT masters with the bakelite bezel? Did it have glowing numbers in the bezel sort of like the Omega Ploprof?
