Credit where it's due - RSC New York
Well, even though I had read a number of sad stories and reports about the RSC in New York, I decided I was too lazy to send my new Green Ceramic sub (which had been speeding up during activity) to Dallas and instead walked it on over.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Very good customer service when I submitted and received the watch. They gave me a two week turn around estimate and finished it in a week and a half. They returned it in the exact condition I gave it and so far it has been running spot on, and I've made sure to do a lot of walking and activity with it on to make sure the problem was fixed (amplitude problem -- as advised by the Rolex tech forum). I even got a nifty green pouch and polishing cloth. Overall very happy with the experience; maybe I just got lucky but I gotta give them credit. Just thought I'd share :) |

have you looked, did they put fresh scratches on the back of your lugs where they remove the bracelet?

Glad to hear it. Many people complain about poor service, but don't reward/praise good service.

I think in NW is where the training camp for watchmakers is... So you might get some QA&QC passes with them... With Dallas you have less chance of a mistake..
Maybe it is just pure luck...

Nope, no RSC scratches on the lugs. They even left the ghetto scotch tape I keep on the clasp :)

Glad you had a good experience with them. My watch is in transit to them to fix my clasp. I am a little concerned after reading some of the responses.

If they can't complete a simple task like this they might as well close shop.
Personally I can't get over how they stiffed me for $200 and will never use them again. |

I have had nothing but good experiences with the NYC RSC and I have been using them since the early '70s. The same has been true with the Omega service center on 5th Avenue in NYC.

The watch was running fast when I was running or walking. So they adjusted the balance amplitude and regulated it (fairly simple from the little I understand about watch movements but still: no fuss, quick turnaround, smiling faces, and no additional scratches -- I'm happy.

I find that if you are able to do walk-in service @ the NYC RSC then you are golden. Mail-in service - no way, Dallas only.

Seems RSC NYC doesnt get a fair shake. I read hear some horror stories from both service centers and well as good reports. People seem to jump on the bandwagon to shred the NY center. Mine hasn't been there yet but know quite a few friends that have sent there to NY and no issues. Mine will make a Manhattan stop when the time comes.

I sent my first Sub into RSCNY after it stopped working (after 15 years' service...). Other than the fact that the overhual took a long time, the service was tops. They were communicative, and very pleasant.
