Datejust in a league of their own??
Seems like Datejust are definitely in a league of their own.
With all the "Sport" models we look are there are only so many options. But all the options availiable with the Datejust alone, more different combinations than all the Sport Models combined!!!! SS, TT, All Gold, White Gold, Jubille BRacelets, Oytser Bracelets, Polished Bezels, Engineer Bezels, Diamond hour markers, Roman numeral hour markers, Arabic hour Markers, Upright or Upside down # 6, TT Dials, white dials, black dials, silver dials, bullseyes dials, red date, black date, alernating date. etcccc Seems the combinations are endless!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I agree, but there is one sport's Rolex that is very versatile in terms of "changeability", too:
The "old" GMT 16700 with different bezel insert variations. And you can even go "wild" (after market) like this: And the SUB DATE comes in different variations, too: SS, TT, YG, and with all the different dials: black, blue and serti you get a totally different look. Not to forget the "LV". Here are just a small selection of the various Sub Date types: Various Sub Date types. Click!

The DJ will always remain the all time Rolex classic.
Its basic form, shape and look still remains the same over the years.....and I have to admire Rolex for maintaining that look over these decades. The DJ has so many dial options to choose from that it virtually caters to all tastes and cultures. Superb watch, the DJ - evergreen Rolex model!! JJ

In all my travels, I probably see more TT DJ's than all the sport models combined...

Allan,
Not sure if it's your DateJust, your photography, or both but that watch is stunning. dP

One question:
Is the lume on those "stick Superluminova" hour markers good on those DJ's?? I am considering buying a DJ 116234 like this one, but it would be nice to hear from a "user" how good the lume is. This is the model I would like: Or should I save for this one?

I posted a message a week ago regarding my DJ. I have a SS,white dial with the white gold new stick lume markers, going from sunny outside to dark the lume markers are very bright for about 10 minutes...and then shortly after that, not much left. Really dig the dial, disapointed with the lume. Oh well. I would like to know if that is what other owners are getting as well.

Ah, yes! I remember that post of yours! Sad to hear about that, but thanks for the reply. Why not go to your AD and make a complaint about it?

Thanks, yachtsales. Years ago I set out to buy a blue sub, but when I saw this for the first time, it blew me away. Had to have it. Still don't have a sub, but also, I'm not tired of this dial, even after 10 years.
