The only original owner of a vintage Rolex I know is my dad. How did you meet the guy. You are very fortunate. That watch cleaned up very nice. Each year there are a few watches listed for sale that I regret not pulling the trigger on. One of them last year was a 1675 that the owner was selling after a Bob Ridley service that had never probably been polished or that had a prior service. That is a great example and should fit nicely into your collection of 629 GMT's...LOL. I think the dirt on the Qtip and the McDonalds napkin are a nice touch.

John, that is some real DNA on that bezel before the cleaning! Q-tips and breakfast at McDonalds mix very well with a Rolex. I'll give you a call later it the week and fill you in.

Okay, here's my old beat up, well traveled and well used 1675 purchased in March 1963. My papers show that the 1570 movement was tested in Bienne in February 1961, which I guess means it was assembled some time in 61.
