Nautilus 5711/A/011 or Vintage Daytona Big Red 6263?

New to Patek because I've always considered it way out of my league. For my next purchase I have been patiently waiting for a mintVintage Daytona Big Red 6263 (Black Dial w/White Subdials) to come available although the White faced Nautilus 5711/A/011 has certainly caught my eye from pics I've seen online. I realize these are two totally different watches but unfortunately can't have them both. If you could only have one, which would you choose? Is this Nautilus available to purchase yet and do you guys see a huge demand for this particular model?

Thanks,

Mike G.

I have the Nautilus 5711/1A and I don't have a 6263.

I have a current version SS Daytona and my Red Sub meets my current vintage needs.

So I have already made my choice.

It sounds like you've been eyeing the Daytona for awhile and now the Nautilus maybe more of a diversion possibly.

Have you even tried on a Nautilus yet?

It's a very different sports watch to say the least.

There always seems to be a demand for the latest thing, eventually these things can wear off.

As far as I know it is not availible yet, and when it first comes out it could be awhile before a first time Patek owner could get a hold of one.

The thing is you have to ask yourself is do you really want it, regardless of others demanding it or not.

You may be the voice of reason Dan. I was just at my AD and tried on a 5980/1A Nautilus Chronograph and it just wasn't for me, but the simplicity of the white dial nautilus looks pretty damn good in pics. They did not have a Nautilus in stock so I may just have to head back in when they get one. My Daytona could be found tomorrow or in a year. Patience is not my strong suit LOL!

The 5711 by the way is much thinner case than the 5890. The 5711 is much different watch in many ways from the 5890 in my opinion.

By the way I did rewirite my original post a bit, but I did get the feeling your real love was the vintage Daytona, not sure about the price difference here, but if the Daytona is what you want hang in there.

Your on one of the right forums to get one.

Just make sure you buy the seller, so important with these vintage pieces.

Have you taken a look at the vintage sub forum yet?

Patience is such a big part of finding the piece that you are looking for. Not always that easy but sure worth the wait.

Good luck with your hunt.

Cheers,

Dan
