Are you more excited to wear your watch where you know it will be noticed?

We all love our watches but I am just curious if members lok forward to wearing their watches where there is a great likelihood of their watch being noticed -- likecoktail parties, dinners or anywhere where large numbers of people are present in close proximity --- like anight club?

thanks,

No, unless its a watch GTG and we're sharing our pieces. The few times I've had someone randomly comment on my Rolex it goes really ackward really fast.

When you like the brand and wear it for yourself, yes it does!

I love my Datejust but I'm not looking forward to exposing it to people when I wear it. I appreciate compliments if I get some but otherwise I couldn't care less.

No. I would much prefer situations where my watch goes unnoticed.

No absolutely not!!! If you do you are asking for issues. I don't like attention being brought to my watch at all. If out at night I'll generally wear sleeves if it's not too hot. Same reason I'll generally just drive my truck and leave the sports cars at home. I've even gone as far to say it was a replica twice before when asked. Once was in Philly after a phillies game around midnight. Never know who migh be eavesdropping on your conversation. IMHO you are just asking for trouble and if if you are in a totally safe area if you are trying to bring attention to your watch you just come off as a prick.

Recognizable name yes but 95% of the population couldn't tell a Rolex from a fossil. SS Rolexes fly under the radar to almost everyone that's not a WIS. I was with my fiancé for 8 months before she knew my DSSD was a Rolex. She's into fashion big time and knows nothing about watches. Now she can spot a Hermes bag from 50 yards away in a crowd.

Seems to work for me...I've never had anyone 'on the street' comment on any watch I'm wearing.....and I prefer it that way!
Maybe I'm not that approachable!!

HAHA. Hey from some of these AD stories popping up of late I bet a few of the salespeople would say the Rolex is the bottom one.

No, I don't want it noticed at all....I wear it strictly for my own personal enjoyment and not to make an impression. In fact I would say most people don't know a Rolex from any of the numerous low price copy cat watches. The quality is best appreciated from your own vantage point and knowing what's under the hood. As well, on what few occasions I've been asked if it's real, the reaction is not the positive one you would expect. Lets face it, only another WIS will have any sort of appreciation. Cheers.

I love my Rolex (and Panerai) but I have actually gravitated toward other brands just for the simple reason that if someone notices it, I don't want them noticing the obvious. I love to talk to the few WIS folks I meet, but I tend to abhor the brand-hounds.

Short answer no its a watch who the hell is going to look at a watch unless a total WIS,but many today dont wear a watch they just wear a brand. Or perhaps if you want to be really noticed stick a big sign on your forehead look everyone I am wearing a Rolex...

The only people that notice it are the ones who have an interest. So I dont mind it being noticed. Most people dont care what watch you are wearing. 99% of the time no one bothers to notice.
It gives me personal enjoyment which is what really counts.
If I wanted to get noticed Id buy a YG DD II like a BOSS. They are very noticeable since they are so shiny.

I've noticed there's more watch geeks here in Sweden then I first thought. I don't care about people recognising my watch at all. Sometime I've been asked if its a copy, then I say yes. Just so I don't have to get in to a discussion about how dumb it is to spend money on a nice watch. :)

I've been wearing Rolex for 20+years, travelled all over this beautiful planet and NEVER have I had anyone comment on my watch, unless they are into watches.

Sorry to burst your Rolex bubble but no one gives a rats a*s about your watch. They are too busy looking at themselves.

No, not at all which is why I don't care for all the flash of Breitling. I'll notice watches of other wearers, and I'm sure they notice mine, but I certainly don't go out of my way to point it out.

No. Except for the occational long stare from another WIS type, no one ever notices or comments on my watches. I own and wear my watch for me. What others may or may not think is just not something that I would ever think about.
