Washington DC Vintage Crazies?
Gents:
Just moved to DC a few months ago and I'm wondering if there are any other DC Rolex lovers out there in TRF? I was contacted by a fellow TRF-er a few days ago and we briefly kicked around the idea of a GTG. Anyone in the area and interested on having an informal GTG or meeting up to share watches/stories? Let me know and maybe we can get something going. V/R Mike

Had been to DC a few months ago to meet my brother who lives there (he's not into watches unfortunately:)) and had an awesome time visiting watch shops there though is very low on vintage stock, so a GTG for you'll guys there is surely great!
See http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=226971 and some places I visited http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=227143 http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=226975

I am surely game. Not too many vintage fans around DC I'm afraid, partly because there isn't even a place to buy them any more (imagine that, the nation's capital with over 4M people in the greater DC Metro Area and no vintage shop?!).

WHOA! Looks like I need to check out Tyson's Corner!?!?!
I know what you mean though - it is not a vintage hot spot. Guess I'll have to head to NYC for a weekend or drive up to LA next time I am in San Diego!

PSV - Sounds good.
I'm going to try to compile a list, then reach out to all once I get some rough details. I know what you mean - no vintage. I keep thinking, I'm going to quit my day job and open a vintage store in DC! ... I don't think the fiancee would go for it though V/R Mike

Rolex are the thing to have there - thats probably why there are so few vintage ones for sale. Betcha they are all snapped up quick and then worn to work everyday! Enjoy the area - its great..

By the way, there used to be some vintage lovers from the area here on TRF, like Yazo/Sunny and Frogman/David, but both have stopped participating actively here on TRF.

BTW, Mike, you might want to check out The Meeting Point forum for previous DC area GTGs. Here's one I just bumped, for example. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...33#post3420433

RockRolex - Thanks for the PM and for bumping that post. I'll head over to the meeting point and see if I can rally the troops for a GTG. Shouldn't be too hard!

Hey guys I have laid low for a bit but I am still here. We have GTG's every quarter in both the DC and Baltimore area. Keep an eye on the meet up section of TRF and you will see them. We have a great group of guys we would love for you to join us.

Good to hear from you. By the way, I was emailing with Sunny last night so let's see if we could drag him to a vintage meet! :-)
