Patek pocket watch

I recently visited a friend who is also a fellow WIS , and he bust out his collection . The one piece that really caught my eye was his Patek Pocket Watch . I don't really know much about it , but I thought it would be cool to share amongst the Patek enthusiasts .ImageUploadedByTapatalk1344889853.587178.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1344889920.135270.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1344889936.838663.jpg

Has it been re-cased? I'm used to seeing such Patek's in yellow gold, not stainless steel.

I don't really know anything about their pocket watches, but it does seem odd that it would be made out of SS.
