Brief Encounter With The Snow

Little Robin in the back garden.

Big foot meets little foot.

Mountain road just behind my house.

Snow nearly all gone now but more on its way next week so they say.

Yeah I saw on the news that the UK got hammered with snow. I bet traffic must have been royally fecked with most Brits not knowing how to drive in the snow (at least regularly). I bet those cobbled roads would have been ice rinks too.

Vancouver gets snow about once ever 10 years, and even a few cms brings the city to a complete halt.

Not only that, but if it gets over about 26 C in the summer they all whine that it's too hot

Glad you have some snow Padi - drive safely!!

Actually, almost all of ours is now gone. I can see most of my front lawn right now, when it was about 2 feet deep in snow a week ago. Today is bright and sunny, and colder, but all this past week it has been miserable and gloomy with a lot of rain and drizzle - I hate that kind of weather (i.e. an Australian winter)

Well, what can you expect from a bunch of tree-hugging, dope-smoking, birkenstock wearing pine cone heads who live on the coast?

We still have 80% of our snow, despite a few days of (mostly freezing) rain. But the sun is shining and I can't see a cloud in the sky. Man it's nice to see sunshine again! But since we've got a high pressure system, it's -6 or 8C now, and the temp will be dropping all day as our low tonight is to be -16C.

I saw the news reports of the big snows in the UK. But it didn't look like London got hit, at least from the pictures I was seeing.

Pretty stuff, though, isn't it? As long as you don't have to drive in it or shovel it.
