The D300 blows away the D200 at ISO's above 800. The D200 isn't bad- the D300 is just a lot better. I cannot speak for the D2x- I never used one that high either. I dumped my D2h's for the D200's when they came out.

Download a program such as Opanda and use it to open up a JPG. It will read the EXIF data and shutter actuations is listed towards the bottom.

I would have sold you my D200 if you hadn't already bought yours. Only 4249 shutter actuations. I have a 28-70mm f/2.8 lens if you're interested.

Well done Unc AJ those photos are just superb, the colors the clarity, and taken hand held, really remarkable. You must have a very steady hand

I went to the Openda site but you have to pay to be a member. Is there another way to dertermine the actuations? Trying to see how "USED" my D200 is!! Bill

Hhmm...not sure which site you went to, but here's the URL where you can download the program and it's freeware.

http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/download.htm

Just got my new 24-70mm f/2.8 lens in today. Some quick and dirty shots on what is on my desk...no post processing...just resized and a little cropping. All taken with the D300 at ISO 200 at around f10.

So far...not too shabby at all.
