Enable me for a Reverso
Been thinking about getting a dress watch lately, I like the GO senator sixties, the Cartier Santos MC and mostly the JLC Reverso ultra thin 1931 or 976.
Enable the reverso purchase!

I feel that the Reverso is a unique piece and very collectable from a watchmaker with a rich history. Can't think of a good reason why someone who likes one shouldn't buy one.
The GO is also a very nice timepiece. That would be my choice amongst your three. |

The Reverso is nice, but doesn't work on all wrists (it looks awkward on mine). Make sure you try it on before buying.

I think that if you like the watch you should go for it regardless of who wants to enable you or talk you out of it, however, I must say that you have great tastes as the Reverso is one of my favorite JLC's. The TT 1931 is simply mesmerizing, I love it.

My 1931 US Ed. is a special watch. One of the keepers in my collection. I would highly recommend it. To me, it's an iconic JLC piece and can be dressed up or down depending on the strap choice. Although the US Ed. comes up on the FS forums once in a while, they are hard to get a hold of. However, the regular 1931 is fantastic also and is widely available at ADs.
Here's mine:

The TT 1931 is probably my favorite watch, and quite versatile. You can easily dress it up or down, and it is quite comfortable. You can't go wrong with any of the ultra thins

The Reverso, as nice as it is, wasn't intended to be a fine dress watch and was designed to be used in a way that almost no one uses it anymore. If you're looking for something to wear as a dress watch I would go JLC MUT or the GO that you listed above.

All you need to do, is to try one on your wrist. In one 1/100 of second you will know that THAT is your new timepiece. The feeling, the quality, the style, etc - everything about that watch is absolutely charming. I just acquired ladies Reverso Duetto, so I am speaking from my personal and very happy experience
Good luck, and congratulations ! |

I'd pick the Reverso. The GO is nice too. Did you mean the Cartier Tank MC? If so can't go wrong with any of them.

I really like the Senator Sixties but would have to vote for the TTR. Definitely one of my most favorites. You can wear it casually at a cafe sipping espressos or dressy at a romantic candle lit dinner.

Of your three choices, I'd have to say the GO would be my choice. I need further enabling myself on the Reverso. I know it's an icon, but I'm simply not a fan of rectangular watches. I'm trying, believe me. Perhaps once I mature a little more, I'll "get it".
Have fun with the hunt. |
