Was there a special edition GMT like this?

Says Rolex even serviced it!

Quote:
100% genuine factory original Rolex GMT with Amedeo V8 SRI signed on the dial was purchased from a major collection and was serviced by Rolex and comes complete with service receipt booklet and original box. Watch is super nice and extremely rare, very few Racing watches come on to the market and real investment in the future!

Interesting, I'm not familiar with Amedeo, nor have I ever seen a Rolex dial with print at the 9 marker?

Interesting. I would want to see the service papers and also take the watch to RSC that serviced the watch and discuss authenticity with them.

I've never seen one like that.

Would most seriously doubt it and if it was perhaps a very very very very small premium price would be paid by some but myself would pass.

definitely unusual GMT dial...looks to be real and like previously stated, very strange positioning of the additional AMEDEO text..

You can print your name or business on any authentic Rolex Dial and they will still service it..

A quick google turns up some information. Has some racing affiliation.

The dial is a service replacement dial. Probably tritium but luminova dials were also made with the swiss T<25 before they switched to a SWISS marking at the bottom of the luminova service dials. The hands appear to be replacements and were probably changed along with the dial.

Thanks for the interesting observations guys, surely doesn't look like the valuable racing history investment watch the seller is making it out to be:)!

Yes, I have only seen one such piece in picture for sales before, with a logo print at the 9 o'clock marker! It is the Rolex Sea Dweller Polizia Di Stato "Octopus" !! super neat, collectible and desirable!

RSC wouldn't "void" your piece as a non-original set?

Wouldn't you think that if you went to the trouble to produce such a piece one would hold onto it? Probably would have kept it if it was "normal".

Very likely yes. 78 pieces limited edition for the "Sommozzatori della Polizia di Stato", which translates more or less as "Italian State Police Diving unit".
