sorry guys, these Pannies all look like the same watch, albeit with diff nice legible dials, and brown straps, I can't understand how you can collect so many watches that look like the same watch, you must be crackers.
didn't they start with some with Rolex movements?
nice boxes and some shaky history with Italian military divers, i think some luxury brand bought them and spiced it up? wasn't there a long period where they hardly made or sold any watches??
+ every model is a limited edition???
I am going to assume you are ignorant, and not just because of how you type.

You obviously no zero about Panerai, and you did a great job of showing how little you know.

The same fools that scream to the mountains about how great Rolex is as a tool watch and durable don't realize that Panerai was made specifically for the Italian navy through the world wars and was not sold to the public.

I would go on to educate you on something you obviously know not one thing about, but you are not worth my time or the typing.

In the future, if you want to state your opinion, feel free. If you want to call people "crackers" or making totally wrong and idiotic statements, you will be called out again.

I thought that this would spice this place up pannini boys.

why the insults????
just stating my comments in a forum,
i like my rolex and I didn't say a panny was bad did I?
i even think they may look more stylish than some rolexes.

1] Rolex movement - are you sure no Panny has a rolex movement in it?
2] they do look the same
3] Rolex is better
4] in WW2 the Italian Navy wasn't really successful, and the manneable torpedo was invented 20+ years before in England, and they didn't need to dive very deep.
Who supplies the real pros- Navy seals/SBS?
5] Richemont the RSA people are making good marketing just like their LV bags
6] They are nearly all "limited "editions, what is a real limited edition, I would say <50pieces to make it rare.
7] The watch box is bigger
8] you guys are too serious
9] The Sea dweller is better and invented much earlier, it took till 1980 for Pannys to get down to 1000m
9] Crackers - light hearted stuff, take it easy.
10] a Panny is bigger than a Rolex, but smaller than Big Ben
11] you can order nice straps and change often, that is a bonus
12] U-boat watches were also designed for the Italian Navy?? http://www.uboatwatch.it/main.html
i think they look much better.

In 1936, the Radiomir Cali dial had a Rolex movement in it.

Sure, some models have only slight differences, but "they all look the same"? (see below). I'd say they're as related as a Yachtmaster is to a Submariner, or an Explorer II to a GMT. Same family, but definitely not identical twins.

I won't even ask you to define "better". Every hobby sees a hyperactive misuse of this word. Or should I say, "better" is personal, not factual.

Fair play Boa, at least you know your stuff.
yes a GMT and Sub and SD look the same, but a Daytona and a Migauss are much different.
Better -it's like comparing cars- Merc(Rolex) to a newcomer (Audi)
which is better? or Patek V Jacob+Co?
yes, to a salesperson who wants to sell you a rolex, they would be boggled,
try going to a Ferrari AD ask for a Zonda, they won't know JS

Indeed. As Twain said, "In all matters of opinion, our adversaries are insane".

Good taste!
That is the Panerai 249 with the 'Cali' dial, a very popular reissue of the watch which had the Rolex movement back in 1936. It's a tough one to get, but if you're diligent you can find one. It certainly is a beauty!
