What happen to the price of 6536-1?

Hi,

A few years back, I have seen 6536-1 in the 30-40K range, however, why is the price range for this watch now is from 10K to 40K? has the price for 6536-1 been depreciated?

I am in the market for another watch, but am not sure if a vintage Rolex is a good pick. I want to find a watch that can pass to my kids in the future, hence, I am concern about its value in 10 years after. Does vintage Rolex still drive up the value?

Thanks

Depends on many things.. maybe the condition is not as good, or it has service replacement parts..

Value is largely determined by case and dial. If both almost perfect still a USD 30+ watch I think

I am not aware of ref. 6536/1 ever regularly being sold in the $30-40,000 range (barring special examples). These were always available in the $10-20,000 range, depending on condition and originality, and they still largely are. I think in 15 years I have sold 2 6536/1 examples in excess of $20,000 (and I have had many more). I think you are confused.

I'm not familiar with 6536 but in general vintage rolex prices has gone up. A few yrs back u can get a decent 1803 for around 3.5k. Nowadays it's more like 4.5k
