The "Apple Watch" and Why it's Different

With so many Apple watch threads, I couldn't just pick one to post this in, so I'm creating my own, because this is the real news.

The Apple watch is not a tool, it's a body part.

Well, here are the exact words:
It's not a gadget strapped to your wrist. It's an upgrade for the wrist itself. It's a body part, not a tool.--Mike Elgan
So, folks, there it is. Put away those tire old timekeeping devices that now are a mere attachment to your arm and embrace the Apple watch which is not a watch at all, it's a better wrist than God gave you at birth.

The Apple watch is really the new you! Isn't there a word for this already?

Well, read the logic behind it all here, straw man and all.

Oh, and by the way, TAG is going to introduce a smartwatch next year, as is the Swatch Group.

I'm not wearing anything on my wrist that looks like an ankle bracelet for a felon.

Seems like a nice "marketing" article written by someone with zero experience with the actual watch. At least he noted it as a LONG way to go to reach it's potential and that there are a lot of flaws in the initial design.
