First Patek
Hello All:
Thanks to everyone who has helped me get to this point with my upcoming PP purchase! This will be my first PP and I can't wait! I dress business casual for work, and I am looking for something that is for everyday wear, is comfortable, classy, and will retain its value well. The only other watch I currently own is the Rolex Milgauss GV. The current front runner is a new 5167a on rubber. I have realized that for the same price I could buy a used 5127g or used 5296g-010. What is everyone's thoughts? Thanks in advance! |

The tropical strap on the 5167 is the most comfortable wearing I have in my collection. It can easily be dressed up or down. It is a great PP watch to wear anywhere.

5167 would be my choice; strict dress watches are beautiful but they lack the emotion that keeps you coming back to it (at least in my personal experience ) and therefore have less wrist time. Being your first Patek I am pretty sure you want to use your Patek as much as possible , 5167 will give you that.

5167 is the most versatile, so you can wear it anywhere with anything. Being it's your first Patek, you probably will never want to take it off.

I got my 5167 a month ago and for the first time ever I have been using the same watch for 30 days straight, that is how much I love it

Aquanaut for sure. So versatile and for a PP it's pretty hard wearing (although not quite as worry free as a Rolex)

5127. By far... Arguably the nicest dress watch. Ever. Made.

I am fortunate to own both the 5167 Aquanaut and 5296G-010 Calatrava. The Calatrava is great for business and dressy. But I prefer the Aquanaut for evenings and weekends. Plus the Aquanaut can be dressed up, just check here for all the pics of rubber under cuffs! But I've done the Calatrava with a polo shirt and jeans too, so...!
Although I went Calatrava first, I'd say start Aquanaut, then enjoy it while you plan the next one! |

Aquanaut is a good one. I went all out with a 5711 for my first Patek
