5513 bracelet advise
Good day all.
Could someone shed some light on what bracelet is fitted on this MF 5513? I'm waiting on advise from seller of the serial number. Case back is stamped IV 68. Thanks |

just to help the OP out with responses the serial number is in the 2.4m range.
I am the previous owner of the watch. |

the watch is very good looking and the bracelet wouldn't bother me too much. It is an early folded one so could be okay for the watch. Refernce could be 9315 with 380 endlinks. Nice kissing 4 inlay btw.
The 2.4m serial is a bit late from what I read at B. Miller 2s website http://www.5513mattedial.com/MetersFirst.html |

probably would originally have come with
first of the folded link 9315 with 380 end links IMHO if european supplied. C&I usa rivet if Usa first supply looks like 9315 folded link with later clasp from late 70's. |

Thank you Manuel, yes the serial number was something that did jump out and a concern.
All other '68 and '69 that I have research were all below a 2m serial. Would you agree Jed? |

Wow John, how are you able to rotate all these pieces?
In all seriousness, I can understand how a case back can be found over a range of SN's but the real question is does a MF dial belong in a 2.4m case? All MF's I've encountered are in the range of 1.5 to 1.9 as the transition to feet first occurred 69/70. 2.4m places this case well into the 70's when meters first produced dials ceased. Is my understanding correct? |

2.4 is a little late for a meter first dial IMO.
I've seen plenty of MF on 2.2 M cases though. Quoted directly from Beaumont's website: "However the period from late 1969 to early 1970, consistent with the 2.2 mil serial range, represents an overlap in which both meters first and feet first matte 5513 dials can be found."
