I think there is still a lot of leftover stock of the 5980/1A from last year. An AD I visited today had them in all three dial colors. An AD I visited couple of days ago had two different dial colors in the 5980/1A.

I knew you would notice them Paul Was a fun day trying these out with my dealer and trying to stop him selling the RG ROC off my wrist for one of these bad boys.

Different league, and I don't mean 20,000 under the sea. :)
I suspect I am one of many here who have or would love to have a Nautilus and a Sub co-exist on the watch winder...while wearing Paul's Richard Mille! :)

yup the 5990 aint that great in my thoughts and its so not worth double the price tag compared to a 5980..

in fact, i'd pay more for a 5980/1a BLUE over the 5990..

oh and since you got to try it at an AD, you better get that piece ASAP because 5980/1a BLUE dials have been faced out.. u wont ever find a BNIB piece again..

I guess I'm in the minority as the Patek I covet the most is NOT a sports model - and I love sports watches - but rather the 5070 or 5170 (not sure I understand the difference but I would take either!).

HL65 owns one as I recall, and if I were a cat burglar, of all his watches I'd steal his cat (goes without saying) and his 5070.

The difference between the 5990 and 5980 is $6,000 not double. It it were double the retail price tag on 5990 would be $102k! That would be one expensive SS Nautlilus.

PS. Have you seen and handled one? If you did you would realize why it is so great and the complications amazing.
