2 APs for 1 Patek? Which one (5990-1a or 5960-1a)?
Just picked up the 5980-1r but already thinking of other moves...(still need to move the skyD as part of the 5980-1r transaction as promised to the wife).
Now thinking whether to swap the 44mm RG ROO and jumbo for a 5990-1a or 5960-1a. The only concern is 5990-1a may be too similar to 5980-1r but 5990-1a would allow me to wear to work as I usually do not wear gold to work. Seeking expert advice from all the great members of TRF.

Do the trade. Either one is a winner but I love the 5960a. I just wish Patek made a rubber strap option for it.

You don't feel the 5990 and 5980-1r may be too similar?

I'd keep the Jumbo and use the trade-in value of the 5980R and the ROO towards the 5990. Just my $0.02.

They're similar of course but they'd compliment each other too as one is gold and the other is steel. They'd make a great pair.

5990 is my personal favorite of all the watches mentioned.
I'd be hard pressed to part with the Jumbo though. Keep it and get the 5990. |

Some people say the Nautilus design is dated. I think the 5990 looks pretty futuristic, if you ask me.

I agree and the movement is futuristic for certain on this one. The 5711 is iconic to me and a must own for serious Patek collection!

I would keep the Jumbo, sell the Offshore and buy a 5167R.
So you endup: 5980-1r 5767R 15202 Just another option, good dilemma you have Although I feel that you need something more complicated : AC or PC, it's another consideration. Good luck !

Looks like the consensus is the 5990 (which is what I was leaning towards in any case) but keep the jumbo. Hmmm...going to take some smooth talking to get the missus to allow more cash outflow to pick up the 5990 and keep the 15202

Maybe just sell a few more from the Rolex side...always easy to add those later if you miss them
