I hope no one was stung with seller blubarisax
Seller posted yesterday early morning a lovely stainless daytana 116520 at $8550 on this forum in the classifieds section.
At that price took my fancy a 2013 model also so offered a deposit. Too many tell tale signs of a scammer: Firstly price was too good to be true (but you never know) No paypal Too adamant on a wire transfer Was not interested in a deposit Constantly trying to rush a confirmation of a transfer Even asked for a deposit via western union or money gram Asked for references he provided 5 email addresses instantly with no details I assume emails owned by himself. Also stated he goes by another username jorgeb on watchuseek which I haven't checked. Also checked his few posts on the board, he emails under the name of Quiton, which also states on his profile page but has signed off a post as 'Karl' I reported the listing to see if a moderator could confirm if genuine or not later to see this morning he has been banned. To which I received an email from Quinton stating due too many offers and people contacting him he has pulled his profile down and also on watchuseek. After much laughter I questioned why to which he also said he removed it due to our deal and after the deal he will activate his profile. Please all be extremely careful and I would stay well away. I have seen a few posts even on his profile page asking to be contacted. I hope you see this. Tim |

Is that the one using email strongdeal11@gmail.com ? Well well well... He (or presented as she Paula Quinn) wanted to buy IWC Big Pilot from me. I am glad I did not go further with this one individual.
Keep an eyes open folks ! |

When someone askes about whether to buy on ebay everybody jumps in always saying "why you not buy here" on a trusted site. Well, this site also contains a lot of scam vendors.

Safer here if you take your time, do your homework and check references. I've only sold about 4 watches myself from my collection but have purchased a lot and been on this and other boards for many years with a lot of participation (nearly 20k posts on another site). My FS listings have always been extremely detailed, more like mini reviews, and include a ton of macro shots that over emphasize all the fine swirls on the watches. Buyers have always sad they were in better condition than they expected (because those macros make them look worse than the eye can see). I say this to illustrate that you can buy from individuals on sites like this, and not just the power sellers, with confidence if you do your homework. As the OP noted, if your 'spidey' senses are telling you something is wrong, keep asking questions or walk away.
