Ahhh, shucks.

That isn't exactly a good week.

I'm sure this forum can get your old username back and posts, but more so I do hope you catch the bastard that scammed you!

my comment wasn't to the op but to the gent from australia.

if that's the case, the op made a poor choice in the deal he made.

First of all this OP has been around these forums a long time. I've bought and sold 100's of thousands of dollars worth of watches here and the other forums without incident.
Secondly, I started this thread to
1) let others know about this scumbag
2) maybe get some input on how to recover my money
Not to have some newbie try to make me feel stupid.
You're not helping.

Amen. It sucks that this happened and am sure that you did all that you could do as far as background work.

I would say lay low on the other forums and keep an eye out for the other guy to try to scam someone else.

Is there any technology whiz's/miscreants on here that can help you maybe track down the URL that it was posted from and use that local PD or a local guido to pay someone a visit??

Can you claim the fraud on your homeowners insurance in any way shape or form? I am in the insurance biz, but not that side.

Just thinking out loud in hopes that it spurs a thought from someone.

I am sure that a vet flipper will come along a and have some safe advice.

Sorry again and the old user name and posts will surely be restored. I think that it is awesome that you care so much about that stuff since most all the people that are long time members here are generally on the helping end of this type of thing, not the helpee end.

So sorry to hear this Mark. I hope they catch this prick & you get your money back. Not to add insult to injury but I will only deal with a few dealers here on TRF. Just had another smooth deal last week with Tony Geha.

Sorry Mark and hopefully you can recover your money. For other members who keep mentioning the trusted sellers argument and so on , take it easy on the OP. I'm sure he already knows all of this and he is way more experienced than most of us when it comes to selling and buying watches. Anybody can get scammed including the trusted sellers.

you're correct i'm a newbie but i didn't just get hooked for $7500 on a transaction that i don't think too many other folks here would've pursued.

Then I would think that you would be able to find a thread or two that would help you learn about Rolex. This obviously is the one. Move on.

We're learning about you here too.

The OP was robbed of $7500.

He is a long standing member and genuinely nice person.

He stated why he started this thread. I suggest you stop the sarcasm.

Yep, I've just learned of a newbie who lacks compassion and character, which leads to bad karma IMHO.

@2th Doc - sorry to hear you got hosed man.

Sorry to read about this scam Mark.

Most scammers on the web can be tracked these days and we have long memories.

They will appear again and then you will have your day.

Stay +ve.

That really stinks. My blood boils just thinking about these scammers. Scum of the earth...

Sorry if you have already answered this, but the fact that the scammer had 11 posts and is new to that forum did raise any red flags?
