can anyone identify this 16550 ?

i'm beginning to realise it's the myriad of variations that make vintage rolex so fascinating and confusing! This for example is giving me a head ache,

thanks as always

i'm answering my own question now, i really need to get out more.

It has service hands, I didn't realise hands were replaced on such relatively young watches. I'm still curious about the whole non-rail cream 16550 though.

I'd not call that cream, just a discolored white dial. From the scan anyway. m

thanks for the replies, here's the full details, seller insists it's a cream, are there any other identifying methods other than the degree of 'creamyness'?

I have no idea what you are talking about. Would you mind explaining? I'm new here.

R7 is the first two digits of the serial number that gives it an idea of the age. Not the correct range for a true cream dial.

ah i see, thanks guys, I was going to ask how did you identify it as that, but now realise it's described as such on the description.

So given it's not a cream dial, although it is nicely aged,
how much difference would that make to its value?
