? about changing date in danger zone...

I know Rolex is different, but with mechanical watches in general, what if you accidentally change the date between the hours of 8p-3a a few times? Does it really ruin the watch? I only ask because people's opinions on this matter seem to vary...

Its not recommended because things MAY break. Most of the time it won't, but There are cases of people changing date with that not-recommended period and broke the date function.

If say if nothing breaks, then great but try not to do it often in the future.

If I had to set the date and time during that period, I would use the hr hand to advance to the next 12pm first, then set the date, and then set the time.

7, exactly 7. :)

It differs calibre to calibre but I've heard from a watchmaker (glashutte original) it is most common damage item he sees.

I did it once by accident on one of my Breitlings yesterday, and I'm so pissed!

Not an issue with modern rolex.

Only downside is your date may unintentionally change mid day

Thanks man... Normally I never change the date during that period, but I just had a brain fart last night... I changed it at 12:45a, so the date had already changed...plus it's NOT like i felt some sort of resistance doing it. Luckily, at that point, I caught myself.

I set the hour hand to the 6 o'clock position before adjusting the date.

Honestly this would bother me. This isn't a very high end movement, that should have been figured out.

My 2006 chronomat doesn't have this requirement.
