Rolex in the Man With the Golden Gun

Hello experts,
Just been catching up on my Bond films and noticed that in this scene only, Bond seems to be wearing a Submariner Date and not a 5513 in the earlier scene outside the Bottoms Up club.
Next time this is shown have a closer look at his watch as it was the date bubble and 4 lines of writing when he is looking through her handbag!
Has anyone else noticed this?Man with the Golden Gun.jpg

Well in the one before he has a magnetic sub where all the markers switch to red.

The movie was made in 1974. Was it a red or white 1680 that you saw?

On a similar note, most people know that Tom Selleck wore a 16750 for all his shows, but watching one of his Jesse Stone movies recently, I got a quick glimpse of what was supposedly his watch and it has left me utterly confused.

Very good catch!

I must have seen the movie 30 times and never saw this.
I freeze-framed the BluRay some minutes ago and you can definitely see the cyclops!

I'd say white:

Rare to see a red Sub listed as younger than 1972.

Good close up Bondtoys.
I wonder if it was Roger's own he used for that scene?

Good photo. I yearn for the days when Rolex was the Bond watch - as expressed in the original 007 books - before Omega paid for product placement and besmirched the books wherein Rolex was 007's watch.

We're discussing the matter right now on the James Bond Forum.

It seems that thruout the entire movie he's wearing the Submariner-Date with the exception of that one closeup which may an insert of some kind - maybe not even showing Moore's wrist.

I'll have to go thru the entire movie again to get this confirmed (don't have the time for the moment) - at least there is one more scene where you can see the cyclops:

confused as well, I did hear that he had auctioned off his GMT ( don't know which one that would be) at a charity event a few years back.

The watch pictured is obviously not a 16750 and it's also not a watch that left the Rolex factory in that form unless it is a one of a kind.

Possible if it was a stand in that did the shot and they needed any Rolex that resembled Tom Selleck's watch. I very much doubt that Selleck himself would wear a fake.

He does wear the 1680 throughout most of the movie (you can catch glimpse of the light reflecting off the cyclops), but the 5513 does return at the end of the movies on a USA C&I Bracelet even !!

Wait, wait just a minute....

There's a James Bond forum? Now I have to check it out, but can't really afford to spend more time on random internet stuff that interests me.

Ok, back to the watch.
