New Omega Globemaster-2015
Just got the Omega Minute email a couple days ago and saw this new watch. Totally awesome IMO. I love vintage Connie Pie Pans, and this is a nice take on that in a Globemaster reissue. What do you guys think, and any idea on pricing?
I was thinking $15-$20K. http://www.omegawatches.com/planet-o...ce=Emailvision |

I like the fact that there's the SS version. If the price is right it's a good option, but I still think that Vintage is the way to go with Omega.

I think it looks really good! I get the idea of the throwback naming and historical connections, but I think naming it the Globemaster a GMT complication would have been a nice touch. Looking forward to seeing one in person though.

this is the text from a hodinkee review...
"Each watch is water resistant up to 100 meters and comes with a four-year warranty. The Globemaster will retail for around $7,700 in steel, in the low 20s for SEDNA gold, and the platinum limited edition will be around CHF 37,000." im just curious about the case thickness. |

I really like this watch. Nice review on the Hodinkee website. The stainless is very nice.

My boutique sent me a pic the other day as they just got one in.
It's nice. Very nice. But not for me.

I went in both central London boutiques at the weekend. They're beginning to get them in but a lot of delays. They both had a good selection of SS one's but neither had the SS/Rose Gold with bracelet and Blue dial that I wanted to see, nor had they had any in yet or any idea when they would.
Treated very well in both boutiques and offered Dom as well as more usual refreshments fwiw, nice to see the art of customer service alive and well. On the other hand the customer service in the Wonder Room in Selfridges was awful. |

Saw a two tone today. Sorry I forgot to push in the crown. Love the size and the look of the bracelet. I'm not a fan of the butterfly clasp though. I'll be going back when they get in a blue or silver dial on the stainless bracelet.

I really want to like this because I am a fan of the pie pan dial. But a pie pan demands dauphine hands IMO, so these stock speedy hands are out of place. Plus, I don't care for that extension from the case between the lugs that the bracelet meets up with. That just looks goofy.

I guess that closes the issue of a date window on the platinum version

I finally saw the TT Globemaster with Blue dial in the Omega boutique in NYC on 5th Ave last weekend, it's really nice, the blue dial is lovely and the brushed finish to the bracelet is nicely understated and classy.

Looked at them at the boutique last weekend and really liked the SS and TT models. Not a big fan of the metal bracelet, I think the watch works better on the strap.
