Aqua terra daydate

Hey everyone,

I'm new to omega and I'm really only familiar with the speedmaster. I tried on an blue dial AT8500 and really liked it. I went on the website and saw the AT daydate and liked that even more. Does anyone own one and what are your thoughts on the watch? I love love to see some pics if you have them.

Is this not a popular model?

I don't think so, I looked at the day date version at an AD and they wanted 3k more vs the date version. Not worth it IMO for the day of the week. This model has been sitting for a long time btw.

Isn't the day/date an annual calendar? I believe that's why is much more pricey. Great looking watch but I haven't seen one in the wild.

No, the annual calendar ($8400 msrp) is different; it shows the month and it's 43mm (or 38.5). The 41.5mm Day-Date is only $600 less than the Annual Calendars.

I am wearing the black dial version right now. And I have the blue dial on order coming in a few days.

Very interchangeable with leather, rubber and steel bracelets.

I am a huge fan. The crown guards are built in, the case is super well proportioned, the dial is clean with nice lume at night and I love the see through back.

It has a 150 meter rating and the DD option to me is well worth the extra coin.

I will post a picture shortly.

Thanks for the responses!

The blue dial is amazing and I'm very tempted to pick one up. My grail watch is a 36mm yellow gold daydate but I don't think I'll get that watch for a while. I figure I can get a lot more use out of this now and it's price fairly imo.

Very nice! Great choice of dial Seth
To the OP, this is a great alternative to the Rolex DD at a fraction of the price

Yeah Dave. I have got to say that I am just much happier and more content wearing my Omegas. I am enjoying them endlessly. And I can swap out bracelet with rubber or leather.

They look great. They feel great.

And I feel like I am just more in-line with Omega as a brand.

Loving my Omega watches.

Thanks Brian....

And I love the DD complication. I agree with your assessment to the OP. It is way far less expensive all you really lose is the PM.

Sorry. Just seeing this.

It's omega oem, but not sure about its origins. Rubber with white stitching.

Go to a boutique as they will likely have a few options for you.

I'll get a pic of both up shortly.

They are both really awesome. And with different straps so very different.

Post pics of the AT Chrono GMT when you get it! That watch needs more love on the forum I just got one two weeks ago and am really enjoying it. Mine came on the SS bracelet, but I just ordered the leather strap with deployment buckle for a dressier look when I feel like a change.

Nice looking watch! The AT line of watches is really versatile and seem to go well with different straps. Your photo has me thinking of getting a rubber strap for my AT too

I would buy one of these if the case was a little smaller. I think 41.5mm is just too big for what is essentially a dress watch. If it was 38/39mm I would have one by now. I have the 38.5mm AT and it is a great watch.

interesting take....I guess it is all about perspective. I don't see this watch as a dress watch at all.

I feel like it is super sport. Love mine. Both of them.

A very good looking watch. Breitling do the Transocean Day/Date with a Blue or black or white face. Also leather strap or bracelet. A good comparason. I just purchased one new. The cost was £3500.00 and list was £4180.00.
