Question regarding SS/18K Datona
Hi ya all..
I posted Best for $5000 yesterday.. Thanks for your replies. I am thinking to add $3000 out of my pocket to my father in law's $500 I am looking for SS/18K Datona. I found few preowned SS/18K Datona with White dial. I see some of them are Zenith movement are $7250 in mint condition that are Circa 1990's Production. How's Zenith Datona? I heard that they stopped making this. I found one near new Datona for $8500 that is Circa Late 2002 Production. Which one should I go for?? Please give me your honest opinion |

The Zenith 4030 powered Daytona is a fine time-piece. Rolex stopped putting this movement in the Daytona in 1999. Some folks prefer this to the newer models (I am not one of them)
If you have a line on a recent (2002) model, it has the latest 4130 movement and if costs are similar, you have a more modern watch.. The one you prefer is still up to you and you can't go wrong with either.

4130 has several advantages over the 4030. Easier to service, faster self-winding to full power reserve and also longer (almost 72hr) power reserve and nicer clasps/bracelets.

I'm not sure which is more sought after but the newer models since '01-'02 have the newer 4130 movement with is a Rolex movement. The sight below will give you more information. Good luck on your decision.
