Serial Nos.

Should the number printed on the chronometer guarantee be the same as the serial no. of the watch it accompanies? The serial no. of the watch starts with an "E" which I believe to be a 1991 serial no.

Thanks, Mike.

Welcome Mike,

If you mean the warranty paper that comes with the watch originally, then yes, the serial number should match.... Otherwise it's not the warranty for that watch..

I agree...I would worry if the numbers did not match! There have been some fakes that came from China...with papers...in which the paper looked good..but all the numbers were the same....and in this case..they were all "E" serials.

again...not saying your paper is fake...but I'd get that watch checked out ASAP!

The serial number on my warranty and the serial number on my watch match. There is a folder accompanying the instruction manual and warranty that reads R160133/B62523006. The part before the / is the model number. What is the part after the / ? The watch was purchased from an AD in 1984, and the serial number matches with lists of Rolex serial numbers I have seen for watches manufactured in 1984. Thanks.

The reference number after the / refers to the bracelet style of this particular watch.
