Purchasing Speedmaster Professional....Should I do this scenario
I've narrowed it down and my next watch will be the Speedmaster Professional, the hesalite sandwich version. I would like to wear it on the 1498 bracelet. I do prefer a brand new watch, but would have to buy the 1498 bracelet separately if I buy new.
If I were to buy a brand new watch and the 1498 bracelet seperately would the bracelet and watch head not match well? Would it be best to buy an older version that came originally with the 1498 bracelet? Thanks for your thoughts. |

If you ask this on the omega forum or the WUS omega section you should get an answer.

I think it'd match fine. I've seen a lot of people match vintage bracelets on WUS forums with modern Speedies.

You might need to modify the end links a little. I bought the old-school Omega 1171 bracelet and end pieces for a modern Speedy, and I needed to file down the end pieces a little with sandpaper. Otherwise they didn't fit. I'd just get an original Speedy that came with that 1498 bracelet. There are plenty out there.

It'll fit perfectly. No mods needed.
