Hello All From Kansas City Mo
Hello all, I have been lurking and reading on here for a while and decided to sign up. I'm a 36 y/o Firefighter/Paramedic on the outskirts of KC Mo. I havent bought my 1st Rolex yet due to not really knowing what I want. I think I have it narrowed down to the Sea Dweller or a Sub. I'm a avid diver and I want a daily wear watch as well as one that I can wear to work and not tear up.......Or am I idiot to think that I should even wear a watch of this caliber to work? I've been looking on ebay and pricing watches but am a little scared of getting a fake. I wear a Citizen Aqualand daily right now but im sure the dust and soot doesn't do the pressure/debth sensor any good so I'm looking to replace it. But anyway now im just rambling.... Just wanted to stop in and say hello and hope to find the watch of my dreams soon.

Welcome to TRF. Spend enough time here and you'll KNOW which watch to get and how will be the best way for you to acquire it.
Either a Submariner or a Seadweller will be up to your demands for daily use as a paramedic.

Welcome to TRF.
Unfortunately the age old question of Sub vs SD is one which will never be answered. Buy the one that sings to you. Good Luck. |

Well thanks all for the warm welcome! I'm now leaning more tward the SD I don't need the Cyclops "YET" and I really like the DSSD If they don't put that writing on the inside ring, but I doubt there will be any of those floating around the used arena very quick! I did ask around my department and I will be the 1st guy at the Fire Department to buy me a Rolex. I figured that someone would have one out of 120 guys! hummm might start a trend among the FD!!! Thanks again I look fowared to chatting w/ you all in my search!

Welcome, a that's a mighty kind offer by Bryan to help you out on considering a Rolex. Bryan is a good guy and knows his stuff
I'm sure you will get a lot of satisfaction from your first Rolex, and unless you know all the ins and outs, it probably isn't good risk to buy over the internet.

Welcome to TRf..
You know, a good SD will get banged up and scrtched over time, but it can be cleaned up just like any other good Stainless Steel piece of equipment...
