Patek 5146G - Tiffany

Looking at getting a 5146G - white gold/slate face. I see a few with the Tiffany name - does this detract from the value? ie PP made them "for" somebody ?

I saw that watch online , if it is the same one I came across, I have to say that I was surprised that the price didn't reflect the Tiffany dial. In other words it was selling for the same price as a regular one. So that make me wonder
the one I saw was the grey dial on white gold

Cheers !

There is an ongoing discussion about whether a watch with the Tiffany logo on the dial adds to or detracts from the overall value of the watch. For a non-limited production watch like the 5146G, I don't think it affects the value very much.

Most Patek watches sold at the Tiffany stores in the US can have the logo added, although the stamping is done at their New York location.

I don't follow the 5146 as much as the Nautilus...

That being said most Nautilus with Tiffany dials trade at a slight premium to regular non Tiffany dial models.

Lovely watch, and if your name is Tiffany, saves money on engraving.

Lots of opinions on this issue. Some will pay a premium for the extra ink on the dial, some won't.

Personally I think it detracts rather than adds, and I wouldn't purchase one with the added text- even at a discount!

Thought it was cool at first because there is so few, but I now think it detracts from the beauty of having a patek

I like the Tiffany stamp , since both Companies have great history and a partnership for a long time.

People say they wouldnt buy it at a discount while others like myself appreciate and find the double stamp attractive.

it's not like you can get a Patek Philippe from the NY Tiffany Store @ a discount, i tried and no dice

OP i guess its still the demand as the 5146g isnt as popular as the R or P variant.

Without knowing the sales numbers , I would say that the P variant is the least popular; as far as the G or R I would say they have similar popularity depending on the region. Just by looking at the sales adds you can quickly come to that conclusion; is a different deal if you ask which one is the most scarce , then yes P wins.
IMHO

Cheers
