I've been getting them for years illegally so anti-climatic for me, but it should help price a bit. Now when they can open commerce through the internet legally that will be fun!!!

This should help to lower the price. Let's see what happens with the quality, it seems they are not consistently good like they were 10 or more years ago.

You still cannot buy cigars or rum over the Internet. It is only legal to bring them back directly from another country including Cuba.

I have carried back from Mexico Havana Club Rum and Cuban cigars purchased in the duty free shop for years with no issues.

This change ONLY applies to Americans that visit Cuba and bring back cigars and rum. The previous limit was 100 dollars maximum worth of cigars and/or rum. It is still not "technically legal" yet for any American to visit Cuba. Also, the embargo is still in effect, as this can only be removed by an act of congress. Many of us cigar lovers have been buying Cubans from internet vendors for years. My humidor is well stocked. So for myself, this is all a moot point. Doesn't matter either way. Cuban rum can also be purchased online with a Google search.

Just say your going for educational purpose, like to look at the old cars or architecture, you'll be fine. Or spend a day or two to help build a church or orphanage. Everyone should do that once in their life anyways in a country that's not that well off.

My daughter was in Aussie land for school and after the semester ended she stayed an extra 3 weeks and taught English and worked building a house for kids in Thialand. She loved it.
She wants to go back and visit the kids again

I can't wait for a cigar with some port

It'll be nice not having a smidgen of concern about getting chosen for the luggage search while coming back from trips abroad. I've brought back multiple boxes of Cubans thru the years, and thankfully never got searched. Partagas Lusitanias are always my faves, though I recently cracked open a box of Montecristo #2's that have a Feb 2010 box code, and they smell heavenly.

Hopefully this will also cut down on the fakes I see too often my friends getting from dodgy sources......

I personally think many cigars like Padron or My Father are as good as the current Cuban cigars. Maybe 15-20 years ago, the Cuban cigars were superior; they don't seem to have the same quality now, but my experience is limited.
