Jubillee Question
Hey
Anyone know why the WG & SS Datejust has an all SS Jubilee bracelet? Why is not WG and SS for the bracelet as well? Ta Marty

The SS Datejust only has a WG fluted bezel. No point in mixing WG and SS as they look too similar.

As for why, it would compromise the strength of the bracelet for no aesthetic gain. As least with yellow/pink Rolesor you can see the precious metal

Cost control is another consideration in constructing the bracelet.
Maybe a better question is why they used WG in the bezel when SS would've worked as well.

The fluted bezel is a Rolex trademark that has history, and because of this they want to differentiate the 2 bezels and make it slightly more prestigious. A fluted bezel is always gold. No point making the jubilee TT WG, couldn't distinguish it from all SS. |

As other posters have said I think most buyers would prefer the lower cost of all ss if there is no cosmetic difference between wg and ss.

I get the consensus is that it would only be cosmetic.
But.. If I use my Nomos as an example. I love the fact that most people have no idea what a Nomos is. It's subtle luxury. To me white gold is the same. I would know that the piece on my wrist is .... But only watch lovers would know that it was gold....i find that inconspicuous luxury appealing.

Have older jubilee bracelets been SS/WG? Mid 90's?
