DSOTM as a daily wearer...tough? Durable?

Considering this watch as a daily wearer, but can it handle the stress? I have been reading ceramic case horror stories and I am now reconsidering my position.

Chime in with your experiences as to the "toughness" or daily durability of this watch.

Thanks a ton as always guys. Love this forum!

I have one, I rotate my watches, but I've had it probably over a year now and don't even have a scratch on the case. I do have a minor imperfection in the coating on the crystal, but the case / body is fine. Don't worry about the ceramic case horror stories, insure the watch, but there was only 1 picture ever shown on any of these forums with a lug cracked off.

Yea it's always the same few pics at pop up. Even doing a google search for broken ceramic watch case only prudeces the same few pics. If it were that fragile there would be 100s or 1000s of pics as we know how stuff spreads on the internet. Yes insure it like you would any exp watch and enjoy. Deployment band is the way to go.

I paid about 800 for the band and deployment but the newer models come with deployment.

I've had the grey side of the moon for about a year now. Absolutely a fabulous watch for the price (the going mid $7k price new with warranty). It doesn't wear anything like you'd imagine for a 44mm case and is very comfortable with the light weight of the ceramic. Keeps perfect time (+-.5 seconds per day) like most of my modern Rolex and looks exactly the same as the day I bought it (after strap changing and wear).....granted I don't have a huge amount of wrist time since I have over 40 watches....I don't see a problem with it being a daily wearer at all. I do think the damage possible to the watch in a drop is far more severe versus a normal stainless piece though due to the properties of ceramic. But normal bangs against door knobs should not phase this beast one bit. Agreed about the deployant, far more secure and comfortable on the wrist....I paid about $400 for the ceramic deployant and another $500 and something for the strap I believe:

I think it looks awesome even with my small wrist (6.6-6.7"). If this is what your heart tells you versus a Daytona, I'd follow your instincts. Really a great underappreciated watch.

So what do you think in terms of the strap? I have the opportunity to pick up a BNIB on deployant for about $350 more than the one with the buckle. Does it make more sense to
Grab the older one and then add the deployant so I have the option?

Does anyone know if the ceramic buckle would fit an ISOFrane?

No.....it makes more sense to buy it with the deployant for $350 extra.....if you wanted to get deployant afterwards....you'd need to spend around $400 for the deployant and another $400-$600 on the strap (pending on what you get).

Do you happen to have the part numbers for either?

Not on me but it's the calf leather of the pitch black and the ceramic/ti deployment. If you call and omega boutique they can set you up.
