Question on a new PO Rubber strap (Model 2900.50.91)
Well, I'm thinking about getting the Planet Ocean large size, with the rubber strap. My question is, how durable are these rubber straps ? I will be wearing this watch as my everyday tool watch. I had a Luminox with a rubber strap, and that only lasted a little over a year untill it literally broke (cracked) in half. How long should this rubber strap last ?

Hi Mike, I have the same watch / strap combo and it is very hard wearing, any what appear to be small marks just rub away, its thick and gives a more casual look to the watch, still have the metal bracelet and swap occasionally

If you can do it get it with the steel bracelet then buy the rubber strap separately. Omega bracelets carry a staggeringly high price like Rolex. So if you get a rubber strap watch and decide later to get the steel bracelet you could find yourself shelling out at least $500USD for that piece of steel. Just my $00.02

And aftermarket rubber straps are easy to come by. I picked up an omega brand one at otto frei with clasp for about $350 for my SMP, but there are very good non-omega branded ones for much cheaper.
