why do I like my Sub Date more than my SS Daytona?

Ive had my Sub Date for about 9 years now and SS Black Daytona for about a year. I couldnt wait to get my Daytona but now that ive had it for about a year now I prefer the Sub on my wrist. Whats wrong with me???

I love the "status" I guess of the Daytona. I also love the fact that I only had to wait a month to get it from an AD and it was my first purchase from them. Question is if I get rid of it what do I get?

I prefer the Sub to the Daytona any day, seems like a normal feeling if you ask me.

Nothing wrong with you at all, you and I have the same taste, when I bought a SS Daytona I thought I might sell my blue TT sub and keep the Daytona, but after 1 day and the idea of making a little profit I sold the daytona and kept the 16613, I think it's more practical and better looking, JMHO

Evrything is perfect pal!!!!
Even I like my SD more than any of my watch, however, I still feel nice in fact great for SS Daytonas and I feel that it is a must for a Rolex lover and every watch collector
So enjoy both your watches in great health

I had the exact opposite. I bought a Sub earlier in the year just to see if it would grow on me; it didn't, so off it went and Daytona is my daily wearer. Did the same thing with an Exp II...I need to stop doing that.

P.S. Looking to sell that Daytona since you don't wear it? I'll put it to good use

I got a vintage Sub seven years ago, but stopped wearing it over a year ago because the acrylic face scratched quite easily and the time gained a minute between every week or fortnight.

I bought a Daytona couple of months ago, and still prefer it over the Sub as it hasn't missed a beat yet, and the sapphire crystal glass is scratch free. However, I found myself wearing the Sub again on some weekends ... not sure why, except maybe still comparing the two.

Cheers.

Acrylic crystal scratches very easy to remove just use polywatch or Autosolve metal polish in a tube. And your Subs a very accurate watch to gain only a minute every week to a fortnight.Afraid no mechanical watch is going to give spot on to the second accuracy close yes, but spot on to the second afraid no.

I wear my Sub almost everyday...is that constituted that I like it more than my SS Daytona? well yes and no...rather see the Sub takes the abuse than the Day.

None of those reasons would be enough for me to want that watch. It seems a lot of people are caught up in the "must have" the Daytona simply because it's difficult to find one. I think it's very clever marketing, but I've never wanted one because the Daytona doesn't do anything for me. Limiting its availability doesn't change that.
